Blue Skyways Annual Meeting New Partners

Alamo Area Council of Governments

AACOG used a $157K Blue Skyways grant to implement  the “Alamo Area Clean School Bus Project” to retrofit 34 school buses and replace 2 school buses in Boerne, Edgewood, Harlandale, and the Hunt ISDs.
 
       

AGE Refining, Inc.
San Antonio, Texas

AGE replaced 1980’s era NOx burners with low NOx burners reducing NOx produced at the refinery by 73,000 lbs/yr.  The plant also will use gas produced within the plant to generate electricity for use within the plant reducing 4500 tons of pollutants and saving over $1M in power generating costs.

The City aggressively implementing transportation emission reduction measures (traffic signal synchronization), rideshare and telecommuting initiatives, gas-powered lawn mower replacements, and a truck stop anti-idling program with service for 53 parking spaces, to ensure the reduction of ozone causing pollutants.
   
       

CleanFUEL USA
Georgetown, Texas

CleanFUEL completed approx. 700 re-powers of light duty truck and school buses with liquid propane injection systems resulting in a 70% average reduction of ozone causing pollutants.

   
       

Eastern Shawnee Environmental Department
Wyandotte, Oklahoma

Easter Shawnee was the first Indian Tribe to join the Collaborative and is providing education and awareness on using alternative fuel (biodiesel) use for off-road vehicles to reduce emissions.

Emisstar partnered on a variety of TERP-related projects that reduced over 18,000 tons of NOx.

   
       

Owner-Operated Independent Drivers Association
Grain Valley, Missouri

Via a 1.13M EPA grant, OOIDA will offer a low rate financing package that includes rebates to selected applicants/truck owners to install emission reduction and/or idle reduction equipment on their trucks.

   
       

Sunset Logistics, Inc.
Fort Worth, Texas

Sunset Logistics has been achieving emissions reductions of 1,544 tons of NOx, 87 tons of PM, and 40 tons of HC by converting 210 Class 8 haul tractors to run on 100% natural gas engines
   
       

US Inter-Mex Transportation, LLC
Pharr, Texas

U.S. Inter-Mex reduced the top speed of their truck fleet from 72- 65mph and is installing auxiliary power units (APU’s) in the entire truck fleet of 70 trucks.
   
       

Zarco 66 Earth Friendly Fuels
Lawrence, Kansas

Zarco offers normal gasoline, ethanol blends and both on-road and off-road biodiesel to the public at the pump. The fuel station has removed high energy lights and has included recycling and reuse methods into the landscaping ad every day operation. The future of the Zarco station will include alternative energy sources and public educational of environmental topics through videos on gas pumps.
